CEC invites communicators for its 2023 Assembly in Tallinn
The Conference of European Churches (CEC) invites communicators from its Member Churches to be part of a communication team that will cover the upcoming CEC General Assembly in Tallinn, Estonia. The assembly will be held 14 – 20 June 2023, addressing the theme “Under God’s blessing – shaping the future” hosted by CEC Member Churches in Estonia.
Communicators interested in being part of the communications team in Tallinn are expected to have skills and experience in either news writing, press relations, social media, web editing, proofreading, photography, and/or videography. Proficiency in English is especially required for writing roles. however, skills in French and German are also a plus.
CEC is looking for communicators from all confessional backgrounds, European regions, East and the West, with some ecumenical experience. CEC encourages women and youth to apply.
The selected communicators will assist in covering the CEC Assembly through multiple channels.
In advance of the assembly, the communicators will participate in online meetings meant for capacity building and coordination for implementing the CEC communication plan.
“Communication is crucial for the CEC Assembly in Tallinn,” said CEC General Secretary Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen. “Communication team volunteering to cover the assembly will strengthen the visibility of European churches, and will showcase the diversity of our church fellowship.”
“I encourage our Member Churches to second communicators, so we can share their gifts to amplify the Assembly theme and the importance of Christian voices in Europe,” he added.
The application invitation is limited to Christian communicators from Europe only.
The selected communicators must be seconded by their churches or ecumenical organisations. Their travel and lodging should preferably be fully funded by their church or organisation. In some cases, however, CEC may decide to support travel and lodging expenses after application.
Deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.
